What a difference a year makes

By February 9, 2021 No Comments

One year ago today, having made it through a profound trailer mishap that turned out to be  only the second worst travel fiasco of the event (by far – Team Ingalls trashed their whole car!), Parker and I headed out to the last day of our first regatta – the 2020 Midwinters. We were the rabbit in the first race and won the beat but I stunk up the run, then won the next race (!), and then threw the kite over the front of the boat and DNF’d the last race, because of course that’s how you follow up your first race win. Less than month later, the world and 505 sailing would get very strange indeed.

The 2021 calendar has already provided some twists and turns, with cancellation of the Midwinters and a Worlds shipping change that threw a big wrench into NAs planning. But we’ll deal with the curveballs and, before you know it, we’ll be back to racing 505s.

Stay tuned for publication of the class calendar, NAs announcements, and a slew of Worlds planning info.
